The Fifth Annual MTW Trilateral Admission Awards

It’s always nice to see our elected officials display their true colors with impunity. That’s why South Bend Councilman, Oliver Davis, places a respectable third in this year’s Trilateral Admission Awards. Last week Davis had this to say concerning President Obama’s speaking engagement which is scheduled to take place at the University of Notre Dame in May.

“It’s an honor for the city to have dignitaries visit no matter who they are or why they’re making the trip.” He also notices that “personal contact can pay off in federal funding down the road.”

Translation: I don’t give a flip if Obama thinks it should be legal to jam a pair of scissors into the base of a partially born infant’s head and suck its brains out. If there’s a paycheck in it for me, I’m game.

So refreshing to see public officials with this kind of transparency.

In second place for the TA Awards we have a shocking admission from the Internal Revenue Service. It was recently announced that the IRS is stepping up its collection efforts. This should come as no surprise since the Louisville Courier Journal reported just last week that the IRS gave away $7 billion in tax refunds to illegal aliens. If you’re wondering how the all-knowing, all-powerful, beneficent IRS could screw up so badly, it’s because you’ve either (A) forgotten they are part of the federal gubment, or (B) you’re a liberal scumbag.

And of course, coming in at number one is Hugo Chavez’s “startling” admission to President Barack Obama at last week’s Fifth Summit of the Americas in Trinidad, “I want to be your friend.” This was especially surprising, considering that only last month, Chavez said Obama was an “ignoramus.” Apparently, it takes one to know one.

  1. There is added information to support Chavez's latest "TA Awards" victory:

"Obama did not make note that the book offered by Chavez, 'Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent,' by Uruguayan journalist Eduardo Galeano, blames foreign interests like the United States for exploiting Latin America for centuries.

'It was a nice gesture to give me a book. I am a reader,' Obama said during a solo press conference at the end of a the summit held in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago."

  2. Here's a silly question –

Is the IRS going to demand the funds back from illegals, pardon me, "undocumented workers" or from the citizens?
My sixth sense tells me it will be the latter. After all, to "discriminate" against illegals is to incur in the wrath of the ACLU and every liberal moron.
Then, there is the fairness. Is it FAIR to mistreat a "minority"? Heck, no! Let the MAJORITY take it on the chin!

  3. I am humbled by the man's teachable spirit. This shows he's willing to listen to foreign entities. I'm very comforted by that fact. o.0

  4. Sorry Jordan. There was nothing in the article which said they were planning on going after illegals to reclaim the bogus refunds. I’m not even sure they could effectively do so, since these guys are basically a bunch of bloomin’ shades, meaning they don’t really exist until they become full fledged citizens. Ever try to track a ghost? It’s pretty much impossible without the right equipment. And forget detainment; It ain’t happenin’.

  5. How did they get the refund to begin with?

The IRS could send out (if it really wanted) letters requesting they contact (in person) the closest office because the refund was incorrect (in their favor). Wishful thinking on my part. I know.

It won't happen because the agency got their priorities mixed up. However, to hunt any of us down, even if we disappeared from the face of the earth, would be a cinch.

The subject of illegals hits a sore spot with me. MA is one of those sanctruary states and we foot the bill, many times over.

  6. C'mon guys , Pelosi said it was un-American to turn a cold shoulder to our poor, illegal friends.

Makes a guy wonder …….if they can receive "illegal" refunds, did they also get an "illegal" vote ?

  7. Well, J. I'm not surprised, when we protect the burglar who sues for cutting his hand on your window HE broke. We make sure that all inmates get three squares and TV (not to mention climate control). So, wouldn't it make sense to reward illegals for breaking the law?

Is there any other country that protects the guilty as fervently as the US?

  8. Surprised" No. Appalled to the nth degree. Absolutely.
In fact, even those countries who wish to change our laws have stricter rules for law-breakers in theirs than the U.S.

It's incomprehensible to me that those who support the criminal and punish the victim are stupidly oblivious to the dangers. Not to say, the total unfairness of it all.

  9. I hate to be so cynical, Dave, but frankly, nothing would surprise me.

  10. Chad,

My main focus is on those idiots who want us to support Obama because he's the President. I don't even care that they probably bashed Bush relentlessly because I led that charge. But supporting Obama, of all people, means supporting an attempt to transform America into something unrecognizable and uniformly awful. With public figures, we're only surprised by how brazen they are. With average citizens it's about how blind, naive and ignorant they are – and there, we're not the least bit surprised.

  11. I can't remember the details, Jordan. I would've just linked to the article, so you could read it yourself, but this was something I read in the hard copy version of the local paper. Probably, you could find it on the Courier Journal's website. Just Google and see what you come up with. Anyway, I was pressed for time and didn't get the links like I should have. DEADLINES! GRRRRR!

I can tell you this; the illegals were allowed to file tax credits for their children. This was what led to the refunds. Also, interestingly, most didn't earn enough income to be taxed in the first place, which means they really didn't get a refund, since they really had no taxable income. Instead, they got "free money." That's the long way around the barn to say they got free taxpayer money. I love our system; it's so simple…yet effective. ;)

  12. Thanks for the comment, Ted. You're right. It's not surprising, but it is sad, pathetic, etc. Everything from the food we eat to the indoctrination we get in schools and main stream media has aided in dumbing down pop culture.

  13. Ted,

putting asides your feelings for Bush, I think we share the same disgust for the dumbbells who now champion a blind faith (perfect fit) in the "one." The same contentious creatures who gave ample display of their visceral hatred for President Bush when they were on the outside looking in. The "pacifists" who now advocate harmony at great costs.

Nowdays, any American (regardless of stripes) who voices his discontent for what is clearly looking more and more like a well-organized coup-d'etat is silenced, maligned and stamped as right-wing extremist.
How pharasaical and sanctimonious for the Obama followers to preach allegiance to THIS guy "for the good of the country."

Where was the "love of country" when Bush was President? Mistakes aside, at least he loved the U.S. and kept us safe. At least Bush, didn't pal around with dictators and sign treaties meant to replace our Constitution.

Obama's unapologetic words today, as he signed the AmeriCorpc bill:

""It creates opportunities to serve for students, seniors and everyone in between," he said. "And it is just the beginning of a sustained, collaborative and focused effort to involve our greatest resource — our citizens — in the work of remaking this nation."

What do you suppose he meant by "Remaking this nation"?

  14. Dave,

This Congress is no dilettante. Neither is Obama. Remember, they paraded as the "most ethical, transparent" Congress & Administration. Please, don't go casting aspersions. :-P

  15. Obama is like nothing we've ever seen, but he's nothing we didn't expect.. Bush, for all his love of country, made him possible. he laid all the spending groundwork, and he violated the constitution with finance reform, so he begat Barack, but take heart, McCain wouldn't have been much different.

  16. And all we do is complain about it and have tea?

  17. Now you're really cracking me up, Dave. You know what I always say, "People who live in Parthia shouldn't cast usPersians." :D

  18. Ah yes…but we Americans do like complaining whilst we send our tea and a makeshift coaster to those about which we are complaining. It all makes such perfect sense and accomplishes much.o.0

  19. Chad,
    it's Jordan, not Dave. ;-)

  20. Ah crap! Sorry bout that, Jordan. I be all confused-n-stuffxD

  21. Yeah, wrong guy Chad!

  22. I hope you're good at ducking, b/c one of these days, there'll be a shoe coming your way.

    Question time –
Do recent comments post to the top?

  23. Hey! Start practicing your ducking skills, b/c you never know when a SHOE will come your way. P~~~~

  24. And if you are a wise man, nothing WILL !!!……..oh yeah, I shall cast a cynical stone for you. So if they give you crap, my lovely wife will beat the $^*& out of them ( hey she's a "minority" ;) and has a leg up on us and well, you know how she is). Cynically speaking, if just KNOWING what they do is enough to give you a stroke………..what about the crapolla that goes on we don't even know about.
And don't call me Frank, and call Jordan, Dave………your confusing all of us. But I will say, Jordan and I do look quite alot alike………make him change his damn Avatar……..he's starting to give me the creepers. I thought I was the only shadowy figure

o.0 Jordan seems too intelligent to be, well… me. You see the confusion ?

  25. Yeah..Chad, make me (change my ava….) Then, tell D. (whatever you like) Dave and I do not go mano a mano.

Where's the "HOW TO.." page on the Blog?

  26. At this time, Jordan, they do not. It is a feature I will probably add later on.

  27. Sorry about the unisex avatar, Jordan. That's another thing on my honeydo list. Although, if you register with IntenseDebate, you should be able to put your own long haired fem fatale avatar up…or whatever you please, just as long as it stays within our PG-13 rating, we should be all good here. Still trying to get these dang comments working properly and it's frustrating. But, thankfully, I have Ron to keep me optimistic. All in all, this plugin should serve us all very well.
    Cheers

  28. Chad, your response made me think…(occasionally I do that). Have I stumbled in an all Boy's Club [Girls not allowed]?

  29. LOL. Of course not. But I think, generally, women don't participate in political discussions, especially where men are the dominant species. That makes you a rare bird, indeed.

    See you:D

  30. Here you go, Chad, stereotyping! And men usually don't crochet. Is there a point? ;-)
Just so you know I am the reasonable type. Sure, women – by and large – keep away from politics. However, the trend appears to be changing and if you must know I am like no other, in more way than one. :-)

I will do my best (not an actual promise) to "let the boys be boys" [definition is a bit vague] and be inconspicuous.

BTW, note the thumbsup/down…what's the incentive?

Last and least, go ahead and put that pic of me you drew (from memory?) few comments above. It's kind of creepy to look at that silhouette next to my handle.

  31. See Jordan, I mistook you for a manly-man (that's a compliment!!!), dad-gummit Chad, see what you did again. !!!!!!!
No offense "J", because none was intended, just me being a shadowy figure and all I took it personal. Since the avs must be PG-13, I gotta just stay me.

Rare birds and ducks……..maybe I am the one on the wrong forum.
I agree with you tho'………where's the help page ?

  32. None taken, Dave. I don't want special treatment. I want to be judged on my comments' substance, not the "weakness" of my gender. Good thing there are no feminazis around here. I can't tolerate the mindset.

  33. Chad,
what happened to my reply? The one in response to your comments about women keeping away from the political scene on line.
Was it X-rated? Did it get lost or chucked? Let me know if I need to rewrite it.
    Wish I saved it. :-(

  34. Well, I am a pig, but no. There was nothing wrong with your comment.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's about five or so levels up in this same thread.

But I'm thinking about removing the reply buttons and going with a standard layout anyway. What we have now seems so damned complicated.

I will be out of pocket for the next hour, and have been unavailable for the biggest part of the day. So, if you don't see your comments go up immediately, don't (you and Dave) think anything of it. Me or Ron will get them up eventually.

Have a good night. And once again, thanks you two for helping us test the system and for your comments and suggestions. Keep 'em coming we're still trying to get a handle on this thing. With your help, we will :)

  35. I be hypnotized.

For sure, you, my friend, are most certainly NOT in the wrong forum. Glad to have you aboard.

  36. Well, when she talked about ducks and you mentioned a rare bird I thought it was Nat. Geo. The picture I can't get out of my head is that day when you were up in the tree, guitar and red cassette player in hand , sitting on a branch deciphering EVH riffs. A bird, yes…………look where that got you ;)

This "system" ….well, trying to get used to how it works myself. Simpler is always better, but that is a biased opinion.

And too, Jordan and ["weakness" of my gender]…..haven't quite seen any "weakness" in you yet. I really love your spirit !!!
