Sigh….at least we can all look back and tell ourselves we don’t want history to repeat itself. Just beware of the future Swine Flu vaccine…it’s not created by someone (or people) who has your health at heart, although I believe Obama has approved of its development/manufacture with good intentions.
I got the swine flu right after your sister was born. That was late 1974. You were in kindergarten. The hospitals were totally filled (we lived in Des Moines) and your father had to carry me back to the hospital every few hours for shots and IV,s. I have heard I may have immunity….I sure hope so…..It was terrible!!!!!
Wow! I didn’t know that. The weird thing is as of right now, they (whoever they are) are claiming that the idea of pandemic as it concerns swine flu, is largely overblown. In retrospect I have to wonder myself. The amount of cases worldwide as well as just here in the U.S. have been so few as to be negligible. Although, I had heard that there was at least one death here in the states. Given the numbers, my question is, could it be possible that the media is blowing this thing out of proportion so we’ll all panic and buy their crap publications…LOL. I wonder why “they” are so pro-active on this mandatory health care issue. ?!?

My sister runs a small bed breakfast bar and grill near Cabo San Lucas Mexico. When all the press started and warning people about the dangers of the flu and drug cartels in Mexico her business dried up. Americans and canadians cancelled their reservations and got refunds…she is almost out of business.
She and her husband are in their mid 60′s so she is running right thru her retirement funds…..But then our 401K went in the toilet like everyone elses.
