Nothing fair about the ‘Fairness Doctrine’
Nothing fair about the ‘Fairness Doctrine’

Many people have been talking about the attempt by leftists to impose the "blasphemous" Fairness Doctrine with razor sharp precision on the airwaves. And it's little wonder: radio is the only monument left standing to conservativism on the planet. Television and news outlets are firmly in the control of the liberal element in this country. Talk radio and the Internet are the only markets they haven't been able to control and now they want those as well.

Would there be anything wrong with the fairness doctrine if it meant fair and balanced? No. But that is hardly what the term means to those who are steamrolling the effort to reinstate this doctrine. If you don't believe me just go to any liberal website and check out the rhetoric. Fair and balanced according to those who are trying to bring this doctrine back means what they consider fair and balanced. In other words, you won't see a point/counter point forced on the New York Times or the Washington Post. That's because the leftys already think those news outlets are fair and balanced. The reason they rate these "news" outlets as unbiased is because the slant of their stories and the bulk of the content on their editorial pages is consistent with how liberals view the world. What were talking about here is a dextrorotary view of reality being forced down your throat, America, while the conservative viewpoint is effectively muzzled. After all, it's the conservative view which is biased and not the liberal one, right? I can see it now. Since we aired that piece on the evils of pedophilia, we must, of course, in fairness give equal time to the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).
