Obama, congressional dems out of touch and out to lunch
Obama, congressional dems out of touch and out to lunch

I've finally figured it out. The reason President Obama rammed this crap health care legislation through in defiance of a clear majority of Americans is because he truly believes that the majority is in the minority.

FROM THE AP: IOWA CITY, Iowa – President Barack Obama mocked Republicans' campaign to repeal his new health care law, saying they should "Go for it" and see how well they fare with voters. "Be my guest," Obama said Thursday in the first of many appearances around the country to sell the overhaul to voters before the fall congressional elections. "If they want to have that fight, we can have it. Because I don't believe the American people are going to put the insurance industry back in the driver's seat."

Such apparent smugness…such apparent arrogance…such apparent elitism…such…….stupidity. This is what happens when you live inside a liberal bubble.

Apparently, Mr. Obama doesn't get out much when he's stateside. He missed the three million people who stormed the capital on 9-12. He missed the development of the Tea Party movement, which is now over 20 million strong and growing. He missed all the subsequent nationwide protests to his socialist agenda. He missed how voters threw Martha Coakley under the bus when they elected a republican to the seat vacated by Ted Kennedy in a traditionally blue state…and (yes there's more).  He missed the flood of dissent against his health care legislation in the form of protests, emails, letters, phone calls, faxes, billboards, you name it. And finally, he missed the 11 (some say 10) states now suing the federal government over the unconstitutionality of this legislation, with another 27 states saying they will also block the mandates of the health care bill. Anyway, I don't care what planet you're from. It's hard to fathom this kind of executive and legislative activism in the face of so much dissent. The man and his party are hopelessly out of touch. Hopelessly, stuck in an ivory tower that will soon come crashing down.

Obama is out to lunch as is the democratic majority on the Hill. They think they're doing the will of the people. They really believe that all these objections to their programs are propaganda, trumped up by Fox News. It's just more astroturf. That is why I am relishing the November midterm elections. Here's my prediction: Landslide. The dems will be buried in the midterms. They will be annihilated. They will be utterly swept away in a sea of red…white and blue, that is.

We don't have to guess how the dems will look after November. All you have to do is go back to the 2006 midterms, when the GOP was kicked out of office in favor of another breed of insulated libertines. I can't wait. Keep it up, Obama and congressional dems; Those who don't know their history are destined to repeat it.

UPDATE!!!

It was recently brought to my attention that my estimate of the number of protesters for the 9-12 march on Washington is in error. In my commentary I gave a number of 3 million. Current estimates put the numbers at between 1.5 and 2 million people.  I do apologize for the mistake.

  1. "He missed the three million people who stormed the capital on 9-12."

That is a blatant lie, Chad. You can't even pass it off as "error."

At most, there were a million people. The majority of credible estimates say several hundred thousand.

The movement is nowhere near as popular as you claim, and it's about as diverse as a pile of poodle dung.

The "unconstitutionality" claim is hilarious. Wingnuts tried that same garbage with Medicare. I find this especially amusing coming from a Bush supporter. The same man who said he wouldn't nominate a judge to the Supreme Court unless he was a "Christian." A direct affront to Article VI.

This place reads like a dimestore psych eval.

    1. Sorry pal. That was totally unintentional. I was quoting from memory and when I went back and checked it tonight after reading your comment, I was ashamed to admit that the estimate I was referencing was only 2 million. So I missed it by a third and when you're dealing with these kinds of numbers, that's a lot of people. Anyway, thank you for pointing out that Obama missed at least 1 – 2 million people on his doorstep, let alone several hundred thousand.

As for your claim of "unconstitutionality" concerning article VI and Bush Jr's alleged statement that he wouldn't choose anyone who isn't a Christian to be a Supreme Court judge, I won't call you a liar, as you did me. But I will say that you are mistaken my wacky liberal friend. Article VI clearly says "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." Saying your picks are going to be "Christians" is not the same as requiring a religious test you knucklehead…any more than saying your picks are going to be this, that, and/or the other thing. The prez can pick anyone he pleases or hadn't you noticed? Article VI doesn't even apply to the president. It applies to the legislature, since they are the ones who have to confirm the nominee in question. BTW, I really resent you calling me a Bush supporter. Why don't you just cuss me out and talk trash about my mother? That's pretty low, even for you…"Bush supporter." But it's not nearly as low as calling me a liar. I've been your friend a long time. I've had many, many heated discussions with you, most of them revolving around politics. And while I didn't agree with you the majority of the time and in most cases, I thought you had your facts screwed up, I have never called you a liar. That was a cheap shot, bro. Next time you want to call me a liar, why don't you just pick up the phone or come over. Then we can have it out face to face. That would be much better than coming in here after months of silence with both barrels blazing and leaving me this pissy comment.

Concerning your statement about the political power of those opposing president Obama, all I can say is you and the rest of the liberwocks are in for a rude awakening come November.

Oh, and your psych evaluation notwithstanding, if the content is so bad, why are you wasting time coming in here to read it, much less to comment? Don't bother visiting if that's how you truly feel, man. You'll be happier and so will we.

    2. Fellas, let’s not bicker over crowd sizes… during Desert Storm, I was stationed at Rhein Main Air Base, Germany. When the Air war kicked off, we had some liberal college professor from Berlin drive all the way to Frankfurt and organize protests. CNN claimed there were “40,000″ protestors gathered by the Main Gate of the base.

I was in full riot gear for over 24 hours, sleeping on a bus when it wasn’t my turn to stand in ranks to prevent the
“peace protestors” from storming the base. It was not “300″. Our little band of a hundred or so airmen with shields,, helmets and riot batons were more than enough for the small group protesting.

      40,000? There weren’t 4000. Heck, I’d be surprised if there were 1000.

Point is, if you weren’t personally there, don’t argue about who’s armchair estimates you quote are right or wrong. Try clarifying, civilly, “Fox news says 3,000,000″ or “CNN says 300″ and let people draw their own conclusions.
