Well, sort of…Inventor, Denny Klein claims he has come up with at least a couple of interesting ways to utilize water. One of them is as a fuel replacement for oxyacetylene torches. Another is to use it to supplement the fossil fuel he uses in powering his automobile. He says in the video his water/gasoline hybrid uses four ounces of water in a hundred mile trip. That's an interesting disclosure. What I'm much more interested in is how much gasoline he used on the trip. The fact that he used four ounces of water tells me absolutely nothing about his fuel economy, which is what all the excitement is about right now. Tell me you increased your fuel economy appreciably, Denny, and you'll have my attention.
There is an informative article along with some excellent comments over at Post Scripts. Also, zpenergy.com and Peak Oil have interesting comments to add balance to this apparently sensationalized story.
My thanks to leftlanenews.com for supplying the links to a couple of articles and commentary telling the other side of the story. Additional thanks to LegalEagle for sending us the tip and the accompanying video.
