Obama Gump defends his national security credentials…with a little help from the media

He's not a smawt man, but
he knows what a terrorist is

The top story today from the AP has Barack Obama saying that the president’s comments on the appeasement of terrorists is "exactly the kind of appalling attack that's divided our country and that alienates us from the world.”

Uh…no, Barack. It’s exactly the kind of rhetoric that alienates us further from the terrorists. And you’d have to be a complete imbecile to not know that. Clearly, Obama has confused terrorists with the rest of the world. That would explain his stupid remarks. It also explains yet another reason why he isn’t qualified to be president.

Beyond that, there’s the issue of the media which is trying overly hard to help the American public come to the same conclusion they have—that Barack Obama was targeted by Bush Jr. The prez gave a speech in which he uttered something to the effect of, “some seem to believe that we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals.” This was in reference to those who would sit down and attempt to bargain with bloodthirsty murderous thugs. Since Obama has said he would be willing to do just that, he took offense at Bush’s comments, claiming they were aimed at him. Unfortunately, the media is only to happy to jettison neutrality and objectivity in favor of helping Obama get his message out.

From the AP:

Barack Obama rebuked Republican rival John McCain and President Bush for 'dishonest, divisive' attacks in hinting that the Democratic presidential candidate would appease terrorists, staunchly defending his national security credentials for the general election campaign.”

Did you see it? No??? That’s because it wasn’t there. The paragraph was missing one little adverb: “allegedly.”

“…Barack Obama rebuked Republican rival John McCain and President Bush for "dishonest, divisive" attacks in [allegedly] hinting that the Democratic presidential candidate would appease terrorists…”

And we all know why that little neutral word wasn’t used don’t we? It’s because the AP took a side when they did this story (surprise!). As a former newspaper editor and journalist it amazes even me what passes for news these days. As far as I’m concerned, these publications will never be anything more than substandard birdcage liner as long as they continue taking sides and inserting their opinions into “news” stories.

Then there’s the matter of Obama’s “national security credentials,” which the article I referenced for this piece said he had to “staunchly defend.” Another article (also from the AP) said that Obama’s “national security credentials have been challenged.” To which I ask, since when did he ever have any? In order to have national security credentials you must first marshal the experience of handling national security matters. What national security experience does Barack Hussein Obama have? To date…he has exactly zero experience in the national security arena. Therefore, he has nothing to defend and nothing has been challenged, except maybe his elitist, overinflated, Ivy League ego.

  1. Well, you don’t have to be a genius to be President of these here 57 states…

  2. Exactly. You don’t have to be anything except an exploiter of cultural moods and to do that you must understand both the times we live in and psyche of your base. If nothing else, Trog, Obama has been skillful in his assessment of what the pop-culture wants. He has, therefore, carefully crafted his persona to fill what is lacking in so many of these people’s lives, namely, “hope.” Sadly, it appears that the majority of these folks aren’t packing the intellectual baggage to go beyond Obambam’s ambiguous rhetoric. Or maybe it’s not an intellectual exercise at all. Instead, it could be that they are so caught up in the moment of frenzied and desperate false hope that the portion of the brain responsible for basic “forward thinking” functions (like cause and effect, for example) has been “HOPElessly” numbed. It’s sad. Certainly, there’s no humor in the craftiness of our leaders and the foolishness of those who go after them with no thought as to whether the ground will rise up to meet their next footstep. I hang my head in shame at our vacuous political dialogue and our willingness to throw ourselves headlong onto the swords of these “great” men.

  3. As president, my plan is to initiate change through the hope that this country will transform into one of inspiration. We shall reconfigure the dream of a nation (with raised volume) grounded in ambition by refashioning our aspirations into those of optimistic evolution! I alone possess the qualities to reorganize and transmute our policies into ones of promise and expectation! Vote for me, and everyone will receive free health care and an X-Box 360 with two games but only one controller!
…after I tax the hell out of yer @$$! (spoken sinisterly to oneself while writhing hands).

  4. Don’t you get it? If they had put the word ALLEGEDLY in their article, that would make them right wing wackos like Fox News. They don’t want to be associated with curs such as the FOX.

  5. Oh yeah…I get it, alright, Matt. Most liberals have no idea what fair and balanced means, much less neutral and objective. For all the conservative slant of Fox, at least they give both sides of the story and that means a balanced treatment. You think NBC, CBS, or ABC would “stoop” to that kind of journalistic integrity? Of course not. For them, fair and balanced means you pimp the “news” which fits your ideological agenda. If, by some chance, you should get an attack of journalistic morality, you make damn sure you straw man those with whom you disagree do death. That’s the liberal way…and because nearly all libs are democrats…unfortunately, it’s also the donkey way.

  6. Is a “right wing wacko” defined as, “anyone who adopts ideology that is right of left-center, and employs logically consistent thought processes, while at the same time considering opposing ideas in order to best ascertain all possible ramifications?” Well, because I’m feelin’ a little wacky right now!!!

  7. I’m feeling a little Baracky right now…lol:)

  8. Ron, you read my mind. That is the precise definition of “right wing wacko” that I had in mind. May the gods of sanity forgive us. I’m a little wacky, too!
