Begging the “Election,” the Art of Circular Reason[campaign]ing
Confusing the masses
with handkerchiefs,
rabbits and big words
I watch Barack O’Bama. I Listen to Barack O’Bama. I don’t understand Barack O’Bama.
There are few things from college that I can say have truly enriched my intellectual prowess. One (which I loved more than the majority of my colleagues) was “Logic.” I chose the class over a statistics class (I heard it sucked), and I will never regret that decision.
I learned that I had already been using logic in almost all of my thought processes. I mentally followed the professor in every lecture as if I were giving the lecture myself. I never did my homework, and yes, I got straight A’s. It was sort of a “right of passage” for my thinking… and me. Most guys have stories of conquering women…I have a story of discovering the art of logic, and I wouldn’t change it.
I say this, because I am dumbfounded with the American people. Do today’s people think? Or, do people operate on emotions alone? I would love to say that most operate on a combination of both, but I have lost faith in the American people. I mean, some politicians will paint an apple yellow, and 80% of Americans will call it a banana, although a banana is long and somewhat cylindrical, but an apple is fat and round? That just goes to show you that at least when it comes to politics, the mere idea of “Logic” has become the most “illogical” concept to most Americans.
How does this pertain to O’Bama? Well, he is either really stupid, or he is extremely smart and very manipulative. If he can’t see that his arguments are logically inconsistent, then he must be purposely gerrymandering to the emotionally sensitive left. Just take a look at this argument I put together using the Obama template. I started with the words “change” and “hope,” and used a thesaurus to “say the same thing over and over without adding new content.” Here's what I came up with:
"As president, my plan is to initiate change through the hope that this country will transform into one of inspiration. We shall reconfigure the dream of a nation (with raised volume) grounded in ambition by refashioning our aspirations into those of optimistic evolution! I alone possess the qualities to reorganize and transmute our policies into ones of promise and expectation! Vote for me, and everyone will receive free health care and an X-Box 360 with two games but only one controller! BTW, if you don’t vote for me, you’re a racist…"
For your own good, I am now breaking out the smelling salts. Like a well-educated dog trainer, I wish to halt your incessant “tail-chasing.” If you can regain consciousness, you will clearly see “the man behind the curtain.” Everyone needs and wants inspiration, but only Jack comes home with a handful of beans.
Don’t be Jack. The cow is worth much more than the beans.
They used to say neccessity is the mother of invention. I say neccessity is the mother of thinking.
Alas, in today’s world, where the public is happily fat and properly placated, there is simply no need for the cows to think.
And yet the “open-minded” and “progressive” libs will crush any creative thinking that may lead to a conclusion in opposition of theirs (you gotta see Ben Stein’s “Expelled” if you you haven’t yet). It’s no wonder people don’t think anymore. The fear of public ridicule and personal defamation is enough to suppress the hybrid-driving, tree-hugging hippies who spend their whole lives trying to be accepted by their own. The only difference between the American “progressive” media and socialism/communism is that libs hide behind the facade of “liberty.” At least socialists and communists are up front with their ideologies.
I loved this post, Ron. Great way to make the point about style over substance. But I’m afraid it’s falling on deaf ears. The culture no longer wants substance and wouldn’t know a substantive candidate, concept, or other if it hit ‘em in the backside. I never knew that people could be so willingly ignorant en mass. I guess that’s politics. Mama always said, “Stupid is as stupid does…”
Too right, Chad. Until islamic terrorists are blowing up their homes, the liberal sheeple will stay uninterested and oblivious
