Turn Out the Light; The Party’s Over

Here's more evidence of the stupidity, greed, and laziness of our sellout Congress. In this video Rep. Ted Poe briefly highlights one of the caveats of the energy bill recently passed by Congress which will require every person in the U.S. to use CFL bulbs by 2014. They did this under the auspices of being energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Sounds pretty good so far…except that not only are the bulbs expensive, they contain mercury and must be disposed of by a HAZMAT team if broken. And where are the bulbs manufactured? Why, China, of course.
This video is so good you'll want to watch it twice.

  1. Actually, you can get a pack of ten for around 7 Duckets at Costco.

As for the Mercury, that’s what your neighbor’s yard is for, hazardous waste disposal.

If it’s good enough for corporate America, it’s good enough for moi.

  2. Apparently so, fairlane. Stupid, idiotic, blind legislation just drives me bananas. I think I’ll go pick vermin off my neighbor and fling poo at the next politician who’s unfortunate enough to knock on my door.
