$700 Billion heist, largest in U.S. history
Tax payers are gearing up for what is about to become the largest heist in American history, the $700 billion bailout of corporate financial institutions.
This has prompted me to pray the following prayer: "God save the responsible Americans in this country, because the U.S. government will save everyone else no matter how greedy, irresponsible, and myopic they are…and they'll do it by robbing the American tax payer blind. Do not forgive them, Lord…for they know exactly what they do. In Jesus' Name…AMEN"
Thanks for nuthin' Uncle Sham! You are stealing food off my table to cover the gambling losses of crooks and liars. But then birds of a feather flock together and with your code of "honor among thieves," honest, hard working Americans like yours truly shouldn't be surprised to see you taking care of your own and robbing the public coffers to do it.
It was a grand plan executed in two phases. (1) Make it possible for Wall Street to make unethical and outrageous bets (leveraging) many of which were riding on the real estate market. (2) After all those involved were in over their heads, engineer the largest rip off of the American tax payer in U.S. history in order to cover the largess of these profligate financiers and their parasitic borrowers.
What I find darkly comical about all this is how the fed's theft is being characterized. A writer for the AP calls it, "government financial rescue" for "anxious American voters and financial barons." Oh, I see. I must've been mistaken. This is a rescue operation. Only last time I checked, the rescuers weren't raping and pillaging the innocent to save the lives of those who used stolen money to finance…uh, more raping and pillaging. Can I get a witness? 'Cause I really think it's Miller time.
Let them invest in cake.
If I have my way they will, Trog.
Does anyone else find it ironic that the so-called “capitalists” are forever having their asses saved by “Socialism?”
I do find it ironic. I also find it telling that socialism is, now, largely a bipartisan venture. I think I’ll go puke.
