Proof the war in Iraq is working

Amid all the "Bush lied!" chanting from the left, there is an actual amount of level-headed argument over U.S. forces remaining in the sand. The left argues: Why should U.S. soldiers continue to die when the new Iraqi government should be fighting its own in-country battles? The Right counters: Fighting in Iraq keeps the battle out of our homeland, and is slowly eliminating the terrorists.

Friday, June 29, 2007 showed that the Right was, well…right.

The place: The United Kingdom. Two car bombs fail to detonate, and a third vehicle, driven at a Glasgow Airport merely catches fire and injures the driver.

The significance?

They were FAILED terrorist acts. The first car failed to detonate, instead producing smoke that alerted passersby to its existence. Hours later, a similar vehicle was found. Then, on Saturday, two more wannabe martyrs tried to drive their gasoline-filled Jeep into Glasgow?s airport- but apparently didn?t get up enough speed to get past security barriers out front.

In 2001, Al Qaeda was able to hijack four aircraft at the same time. They managed to hit three of four targets, stunning the world and killing thousands of innocent noncombatants.

Now they can?t even make a car bomb.

The war in Iraq is working. Unable to flap their arms and fly to America, and apparently lacking the stamina to swim across the Pacific or the Atlantic, the terrorists go for the easy way out and fight our troops in their own backyard. In the process, many of them are getting killed. What?s left is far from the cream of the crop.

Just think about it. American teenagers are more dangerous than the recent crew of numbskulls who attacked England. Hillary Clinton stands a better chance of launching a terrorist attack than these idiots. A car bomb? C?mon! How friggin? hard can it be to make a car bomb?

And failing to drive into Glasgow?s airport!? All you have to do is get a good running start. Crooks do it weekly around the country- smashing into banks, convenience stores and malls to steal. But these chumps not only failed to get through the glass doors, they ended up burning themselves in the process! Californians with road rage are more dangerous!

This of course doesn?t mean we should let our guard down in the U.S. But it does show, with crystal clarity, how far Al Qaeda has fallen. Especially given that these leftover remnants of the ?intifaduh? are more likely to blow themselves up at home preparing their next masterminded strike, thereby injuring neighbors.

I think it?s time for Al Qaeda to recall their remaining operatives on a short bus back to the Holy Land, before they hurt themselves…Again.
