Stephen, I can see you're a thoughtful young person. You're on the right track with conservativism. Just bear in mind that Obama care isn't the real problem. It's only a symptom of something much larger. Likely, it will not be repealed no matter what some GOP talking head, politician says. They'll say anything to get elected and it doesn't matter what Party they're from. I suggest you educate yourself on what the Party has become and the commonalities shared between liberalism and neoconservativism. The similarities will surprise you. Don't put your faith in the Republican Party. They no longer represent paleoconservativism. Rather, they represent the status quo. That means more never ending wars, more jobs shipped overseas, more expansive and intrusive government, out of control debt and spending, and an addiction to unsound paper money printed at will by the FED. Good luck.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for playing. That was a beautiful rhetorical tap dance you did there and actually agree with at least one of your "facts." The one stating "that which is subjective CAN be tainted by bias, it is not completely true that it always is." Of course. That was never my argument and if that were all you had to say on the matter, we could call it quits, because I agree 100% on that point. But then...you continued and went on to state at least a dozen truth claims as objective reality. And that is precisely the problem. You committed the same error my friend did...along with countless others who have all drank from the same well. The problem is thus: Whenever you make a truth claim such as: It is the case that "the idea that any of us have access to objective truth is patently absurd," you make a statement which fails to satisfy its own requirements for validity. Thus the statement vanishes in a puff of self refuting smoke. Since I already explained this in a comment which preceded yours, I don't expect you to get it. But perhaps someone else who hasn't been taught that you can make sense out of nonsense will understand and move on from this fractured epistemological paradigm into the light of rationality. And now I must bid you adieu. I wish you well.

The assumption you make when assuming that your friend "saws off his own branch" is that only the objective is worthy of being believed. In other words the subjective notion is false because it is tainted by bias. This is an especially weak assumption however. That which is subjective CAN be tainted by bias, it is not completely true that it always is. Anything requiring perception is inherently subjective, and there is plenty perceived that is as it is perceived. All human endeavors really require some degree of subjectivity, and all human experiences, including those which would lead you to believe that certain beliefs are objectively true are also Dependant on subjectivity. That is not to say that the world exists as we interpret it. It is instead to say that there is a total objective truth. We can never completely know it. There are subjective truths in line with objective truth, and subjective falsehoods that are not in line with objective truth. Based on what we know about cognitive science, the idea that any of us have access to objective truth is patently absurd.

I am a 15 year old from east Tennessee. As you may have geussed, I am a Conservative Republican and always will be. I did not come from an elitist, wealthy upper class family. I did however come from a middle class family. Growing up "average", I realized that I couldn't get everything I wanted. Knowing that I couldn't always get what I wanted, I realized that niether could everyone else. That is a key reason why I am conservative. Liberals are so emotion, that they just want to please every single person in the world. BUT as I learned growing up, that is not possible. When Obama was running for president, he promised "Change". He delievered change. But it isn't change for the better. The biggest thing he has done as President would have to be "Obama Care". Obama Care is a terrible piece of legislation. It will destroy jobs, cost Americans billions, and most of all ween out competition (the basic premise of our economy). One of my biggest fears is that Obama Care will not be repealed. If Obama Care remains in place America will no longer exist. I mean this statement as in Americans will no longer have "Life, Liberty, or Property.". We will no longer have life because the health system will become bogged down and overrun, causing tremendous lack in care. I mean liberty as in we will lose the ability to chose our own health insurance. And I mean property as in the value of our dollar will drop substantially because of Obama Care.

'You’re very misguided. Those “500 weapons munitions” were useless and long abandoned by the Iraqi military.'

Lawl,

If you think those Biological and Chemical weapons are so useless, fly your butt over there, and open one up in a closed room and sit and eat lunch.

Hell, I'll even reimburse you for the trip when you get back and ask for the cash.

KeS
USMC

P.S. I was NBC qualified, and I am not even worried you will take my $$ cause you will not be coming back, alive at least. (and be sure to wear some Depends to help the mortician on the cleanup;:)) )

Thanks for your query. This site is officially done. This is why no new content has been posted since before the date you cited in your comment. A big part of why the site is still online has to do with the fact that we're in the process of selling it. Removing it from the web would be akin to taking it off the market.

Additionally, the site still gets a ton of traffic and still gets comments. The domain is still registered, so we felt that it was appropriate to leave it up in lieu of the sale of the domain and the site itself.

Respectfully, disagree, Richard. This is another case of mistaking a conclusion for evidence. The conclusion is that large scale darwinism is de facto the objective reality of the universe. Thus, any other conclusion is automatically dismissed. Additionally, any data will be read through the lense of evolution. That means that any and all data will "prove" evolution is "true."

And I don't mean to sound condescending, but I will point out the obvious: Anthropological measurements don't prove that we all "come from the water." Homologous features don't prove that one species came from another. Similarly, DNA markers don't prove the "fact" of evolution. What do they prove exactly? Only this, that there are similarities between some species, that there are similarities between DNA, that there are similarities (and differences) between anthropological measurements. That's all. The same method for reaching the conclusions you've posited here are also used by people who claim that the earth is going to end in 2012. They're basing their data on one set of evidence: the Mayan calendar. Does the fact that the Mayan calendar runs out in 2012 mean the earth is going to end. No. All it means is that the Mayan Calendar runs out in 2012. Nothing more. You can't tell these folks that, though. Because they already "know" what the data means. Get it? The same is true of Darwinism.
