National Health Care: ObamaCare ushers in ‘Logan’s Run’ era

We had heard “chatter” about this provision and checked it out for ourselves. Sure enough, starting on page 424 with Section 1233 – “Advance Care Planning Considerations,” Congress is requiring “end of life” counseling sessions every five years for seniors. If that doesn’t send cold chills down your spine, then you should be concerned. (You can reference the bill for yourself, here…)

Why our analogy to ‘Logan’s Run?’ Here’s a summary from Wikipedia:

Logan’s Run is a novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson. Published in 1967, it depicts a dystopian future society in which population and the consumption of resources is managed and maintained in equilibrium by the simple expedient of demanding the death of everyone upon reaching a particular age, thus avoiding the issue of overpopulation.

We think the letter and intent of the liberal Democrats is quite clear. Reduce costs by rationing care to the elderly and terminally ill. To quote the late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin of Chicago:

The message is clear: government can save money by encouraging old people to die a little sooner than they otherwise would. Instead of being regarded with reverence, and cherished, human life is subject in this view to a utilitarian cost-benefit calculus and can be sacrificed to serve fiscal policy and the sacred imperative of trimming a budget.

The next issue we’re examining is the creation of yet another BIG GOVERNMENT agency that will determine comparative effectiveness. What’s that? That agency will use “research” and will decide the treatments onw should get, who should get them, and whether they should be made available at all.  Even Senator Tom Daschle (D, South Dakota) admits in his book that Socialized Medicine “will not be pain-free”. He insists that Seniors should accept the aging process and forgo expensive treatments.

Obama: fresh out of ideas on how to curb federal spending

I was stunned to learn this past Saturday that President Obama is so desperate for ideas on how to curb federal spending that he's asking his employees (federal workers) for their suggestions.

The announcement comes in the wake of the biggest federal spending spree ever in this nation's history. Obama and his "spend-all-you-want; the-American-people-will-make more" congress have a budget projected to spend more than all the presidents since Washington combined.

His announcement to solicit help from his employees in this endeavor to curb federal spending underscores his inability to understand the human species' propensity for self preservation. I mean, let's face it; one of the biggest ways to cut spending is to downsize government. But how many federal employees do you know who are for downsizing?

This is just more political posturing and anyone with an ounce of intellectual honesty will have to admit it. Those at the top will gladly approve ideas which don't impact their employment status or their earnings–like these, for example…turning off all the lights, green bathroom plumbing, hybrid cars to conserve the liberal smug so prevalent inside the Beltway, etc.  But what if an employee says, "You know…congressmen make far too much money and they will have to undergo a massive paycut. Also, their future raises will, like other employees, be tied directly to merit and be determined by their employers…the American people"?

False Prophets of Liberalism?

They/He came that you might have health insurance….and have it more abundantly. When you check out the photo, pay particular attention to the man seated on the donkey. It ain't Jesus. This obviously proves Ann Coulter wrong on the whole godless thing.
