Voters declare they’d rather be stylish than safe

From MSNBC:

On the issues and candidate qualities
In the survey, Obama also holds commanding leads on the issues — especially economic ones. He has a 39-point advantage over McCain in handling health care (59 to 20 percent), a 21-point edge on improving the economy (49 to 28), a 21-point lead on the mortgage and housing crisis (45 to 24), a 17-point edge on dealing with the Wall Street crisis (42 to 25), a 14-point lead on taxes (48 to 34) and a 12-point advantage on energy and the cost of gas (44 to 32).

That last stat on energy and the cost of fuel is especially funny, as fuel prices are currently falling like a brick under the Bush Jr. administration and the main reason all the Kool-Aid drinkers think McCain won't stack up has to do with his Bush Jr. associations. It's also quite humorous that these Major Hoolihan voters think that Obama is more fit than McCain in handling the other issues enumerated in the previous paragraph. I mean, what experience does Obama have in handling ANY crisis? ….uh, well…none. Thank you very much. Meanwhile, McCain was handling stuff like this when Obama was still wearing Pampers. This is just more electorate foolishness.

Continuing onward:

McCain, meanwhile, holds advantages on which candidate would do a better job in catching Osama bin Laden (39 to 19 percent) and handling the situation in Iraq (45 to 40).

McCain also narrowly leads in having strong leadership qualities needed to be president (40 to 36 percent). But Obama has the edge in offering hope and optimism (53 to 23), improving America’s standing in the world (51 to 31) and having the right temperament to be president (50 to 30).

Okay, let's see what's more important: protecting us (and our troops abroad) from terrorists and having strong leadership abilities, or offering hope, optimism, and the right mood? I think the answer is obvious. But then, I'm a conservative mastodon. When I point out obvious things like this (or open my mouth for that matter) liberals demand an interpreter, dwell on the irrelevant, and scream obscenities in my general direction.

One other key advantage for Democrats is the enthusiasm gap. Fifty-two percent of Obama voters in the poll say they’re excited to be voting for the Democratic presidential nominee.

That’s compared with just 26 percent of McCain voters who said that about the GOP nominee, a percentage that’s down eight points since the Republican convention in early September.

Winning the base, but losing the middle
Hart, the Democratic pollster, believes there is one good sign for McCain in the poll: The Arizona senator is holding on to the GOP base. McCain has a sizable advantage over Obama among evangelicals (76 to 20 percent), small town/rural voters (53 to 40), and those living in the South (54 to 40).

And what does this little excursion prove? (A) That most of the voters polled were liberal democrats and (B) that they haven't got a clue what the crux issues are. You see, when liberal media types poll liberal voters, it stands to reason that they (the voters) will find an ultra liberal candidate favorable. After all, the liberal candidate represents what they value. That's in contradistinction to what classical conservatives value, and never the twain shall meet.

As for the crux issues, isn't it obvious there's a problem with the part of the brain governing forethought when voters are more concerned with style, "right temperament," and other non-issues like how pie-in-the-sky the candidate in question makes them feel, than whether or not he can actually provide solid leadership and keep them safe?

Ridiculous! What a bunch of zero amygdala oblongatas. I must've picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

NBC’s “Average Joe” exposed in swine production ring

Earlier today, I stumbled onto a reality show called, “Average Joe.” The basic premise revolves around a beauty queen who is trying to find her soul-mate, or “someone to help her perpetuate Planned Parenthood” (it’s hard to tell). I knew that these dating shows were shallow and immoral, but I was inclined to root for the average “Joe,” seeing as how I grew up as one and have been given the old heave-ho (no pun intended) for the “pretty boy” jerk more than once. I thought to myself, “maybe I was just too soft, and maybe an ordinary ‘Joe’ with more self-confidence can do what I never could, ‘beat out the jock.’” I quickly assumed some warped personal attachment to these underdogs, and reluctantly decided to watch.

The girl, who I’ll call “Amber,” was very attractive and ironically seemed very sweet. She poured compliments on the “Average Joe” contestants, and I thought to myself, “maybe I’ve just had bad experiences.” Maybe, just maybe, a girl can be physically attractive and also adhere to the, “it’s the personality that counts,” rhetoric spewed by many women…maybe, I had just been jilted one too many times, and had grown callous from all of the wounds. :-(

Anyway, the show later introduced some new contestants, however these guys were the type of “pretty boys” I spoke of earlier (this show referred to them as “jocks”). As they sashayed into the room, Amber was reduced to a bowl of jelly, and she smiled from ear to ear as saliva dripped from her chin. She never considered the average “Joe’s” again…she was captivated. When the producers instructed Amber to choose a date for the night, she didn’t hesitate for a second. “Rocky!” she exclaimed (that’s what this jock called himself). Rocky? You’re kidding, right? Apparently, he had successfully marketed himself (and his chiseled body); because, in a brief moment, Amber had been beguiled like a 9 month-old playing with a set of keys, while being serenaded with a recitation of “this little piggy went to the market.” When interviewed, she claimed that she had “felt some connection” the moment they made eye contact.

Really? We of the “male” persuasion tend to experience that from time to time, too! It’s commonly referred to as, lust! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to marginalize the negative effects of lust, because after all, why do women call men pigs? Because, men ARE lusting machines. Most women CLAIM to be “above that,” and when they lust, they write it off as “chemistry” or “connection.” Certainly, most women are above this primal curse (I hope), but what kind of message does this crap send to young men and women? To a young man it says, “if you work out, talk smooth and ‘act mysterious’…you will nail virtually every chick, nearly every time.” To young women it blazons, “plaster the word ‘juicy’ across your @$$, and men will love you,” when in reality, men just like “connecting” with your caboose.

How do young people stand a chance of finding happiness in today’s society when TV says, “if you pretend to be something you’re not…you’ll score”?

Continuing onward, some interesting developments arose on the show when the Joe’s and jocks were sent on a “guys’ night out” to a local bar that was “supposed” to be away from the cameras. Of course, the show’s producers made sure cameras were rolling and even took the liberty of sending in several attractive women to “flirt” with (more like seduce) the guys. Long story short, one of the guys kissed “another woman.” When Amber confronted the contestant’s infidelity, her chin quivered as the tears rolled down her sweet little, “innocent” face. She was devastated. I mean, how could he have kissed another girl? Never mind that in the past few weeks Amber herself had her tongue down the throats of no less than a half dozen different blokes.

That wasn’t the end of it, however. Like in a good ol’ monkey melee, handfuls of crap were hurled at this guy. She had indubitably been forsaken by this modern-day Judas, and he obviously didn’t care about her if he could… would… “BETRAY HER LIKE THAT!!”

Amber, along with the producers of Average Joe would have you believe that she was victimized by this guy. It matters little that he kissed one girl, ONE, and he had to be entrapped in order for that to happen. He’s just a two-timing whore of a man; a deceitful libertine that has not one decent bone in his body; a pig whose thought processes don’t rise above his basest desires. Meanwhile, sweet little Amber has EVERY right to “sample” a buffet of men. And she can do it with a clear conscience, because after all, “she’s confused and having a hard time deciding whom to choose” (poor, poor woman). It’s all very sad.

Almost every man has a story about being “the nice guy” (because that’s what women say that they want). But these stories usually end with our hero’s heart ripped from his blood soaked thorax and haughtily cast to the ground. The real she-devils are sure to give it a good stomp to eradicate any residual capacity to trust.

It’s no wonder some men are the way they are. It only takes a couple of times to get kicked in the teeth, before you start wearing a face-mask. What idiot would keep serving up his chin to his opponent, knowing the deadly uppercut is lurking behind that pretty smile and floral scent? Guard your faces fellas, because this world is messed up!

The Media Loves Palin

Does mainstream media suck…or what? I think we all know the answer to that one. Only a neo-liberal or a fool would say, "or what."

In the last couple of days I've had the "privilege" of reading a couple of really poor examples of journalism from the AP I'd like to share with you.

The first one entitled, Palin got zoning aid, gifts,  lamented the "sad" fact that Sarah Palin received a facial, some salmon, and flowers from merchants. The article was written in a way which implied Palin recieved these "lavish" gifts in return for political favors. The writer did everything he could to leave the reader with that impression. Everything, that is, except deliver an outright accusation buttressed with actual proof. Talk about desperation, this is some of the sloppiest "news" reporting I've seen in a long, long time. It reads more like a tabloid than actual news. Then again, perhaps the libs figure that conservatives will think Palin is not fit for office because of her acuity for personal hygien and her love of fresh flowers and sea food. Read the article. I promise, you will laugh.

The second article, entitled, Palin facing voters who doubt her readiness, is just as bad for its bias and pushes the liberal printed media to dizzying new heights of stupidity. The article has Palin entering the next debate with Slo-Joe Biden while many voters doubt her readiness  for the nation's highest office.  It then goes on to cite a poll showing that soon after she was named as McCain's running mate, 41 percent of likely voters thought she had the experience to face the nation's highest office . However, that has now dropped to 25 percent. It never cites the voters' political orientation, which is quite an ommission, since the only voters who are really doubting Palin's readiness are the liberal ones and they won't be voting the GOP ticket anyway. This is just more misleading reporting designed to influence those who are already battle hardened to the media's wily ways. The irony is that evidently, mainstream media is ignorant of this fact, and so, continues to spew this blather thinking it will affect our vote. Imbecillic? I say, "YES!"

The article also points out some of Palin's alleged missteps during interviews while conveniently ignoring both Biden's and Obama's gaffes.

Finally, the article points out that conservatives have been critical over the choice of moderator for the upcoming debate between Biden and Palin. The writer of the article points out three things regarding the moderator: She's black; she's writing a book on how the black political landscape has changed since the civil rights era;(Of course, Obama is going to be the topic of an entire forthcoming chapter in that book.) and she's a journalist. The poor AP writer is confused (not surprisingly) thinking that conservatives have a problem with color and, proportionally, with civil rights. Actually, that isn't our beef at all; it's the fact that the moderator is a journalist. But not to worry my conservative friends, I'm sure her politcal leanings won't taint her ability to be "fair and balanced."
