Obama, congressional dems out of touch and out to lunch

I've finally figured it out. The reason President Obama rammed this crap health care legislation through in defiance of a clear majority of Americans is because he truly believes that the majority is in the minority.

FROM THE AP: IOWA CITY, Iowa – President Barack Obama mocked Republicans' campaign to repeal his new health care law, saying they should "Go for it" and see how well they fare with voters. "Be my guest," Obama said Thursday in the first of many appearances around the country to sell the overhaul to voters before the fall congressional elections. "If they want to have that fight, we can have it. Because I don't believe the American people are going to put the insurance industry back in the driver's seat."

Such apparent smugness…such apparent arrogance…such apparent elitism…such…….stupidity. This is what happens when you live inside a liberal bubble.

Apparently, Mr. Obama doesn't get out much when he's stateside. He missed the three million people who stormed the capital on 9-12. He missed the development of the Tea Party movement, which is now over 20 million strong and growing. He missed all the subsequent nationwide protests to his socialist agenda. He missed how voters threw Martha Coakley under the bus when they elected a republican to the seat vacated by Ted Kennedy in a traditionally blue state…and (yes there's more).  He missed the flood of dissent against his health care legislation in the form of protests, emails, letters, phone calls, faxes, billboards, you name it. And finally, he missed the 11 (some say 10) states now suing the federal government over the unconstitutionality of this legislation, with another 27 states saying they will also block the mandates of the health care bill. Anyway, I don't care what planet you're from. It's hard to fathom this kind of executive and legislative activism in the face of so much dissent. The man and his party are hopelessly out of touch. Hopelessly, stuck in an ivory tower that will soon come crashing down.

Obama is out to lunch as is the democratic majority on the Hill. They think they're doing the will of the people. They really believe that all these objections to their programs are propaganda, trumped up by Fox News. It's just more astroturf. That is why I am relishing the November midterm elections. Here's my prediction: Landslide. The dems will be buried in the midterms. They will be annihilated. They will be utterly swept away in a sea of red…white and blue, that is.

We don't have to guess how the dems will look after November. All you have to do is go back to the 2006 midterms, when the GOP was kicked out of office in favor of another breed of insulated libertines. I can't wait. Keep it up, Obama and congressional dems; Those who don't know their history are destined to repeat it.

UPDATE!!!

It was recently brought to my attention that my estimate of the number of protesters for the 9-12 march on Washington is in error. In my commentary I gave a number of 3 million. Current estimates put the numbers at between 1.5 and 2 million people.  I do apologize for the mistake.

EXCLUSIVE: Obama talks for 20 minutes and says absolutely nothing…

Well folks, all I can say is evasive, evasive, evasive.  Whether you love President Obama or hate him, I don't think there's any question that after last night, he as proven his skill as a politician.

The canned speech (AHEM!) er, uh… "interview," which was conducted by Bret Baier in the Blue Room of the White House, basically showcased Obama's talking points while effectively dodging legitimate questions posed by Baier, questions which you, the people of the United States, wanted answered.

At the top of the query list for many Americans is a little thing called the "Deem and Pass bill." Some have called it the "demon pass bill," and with good reason. The bill would allow  the new health care legislation to be sent directly to President Obama's desk without a vote, effectively shredding the Constitution of the United States. Specifically, articles I and II would end up in the crapper, with dreadful ramifications later on, as this unconscionable, power grabbing action continues from one administration to the next.

Anyway, Baier asked the prez if he supported this kind of action, to which he responded with a laundry list of his talking points. When Baier pressed Obama further on the question, he responded by saying, "I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or the Senate," proving, yet again, that there's more than one way to dodge a question.  Thanks for your, uh…transparency Mr. President.

That's the kind of evasive non-answer which Obama puked out for close to 20 minutes. I don't think he ever answered a single question Baier posed to him. Instead it was the usual scripted garbage, lies, and skirting the issue we've come to expect from our nation's leaders. It was the kind of sycophantic gruel which if it isn't slurped up by a barely conscious Kool-Aid drinking electorate, it's certainly given intravenously to those who are hopelessly dependent on the system. These days, those two categories derive the same way, so I realize I"m repeating myself. But I digress…

To be fair to Obama, I believe he has a legitimate reason for being stodgy in the Fox interview and I think it's summed up in the following quote by Obama:  "Everybody knows what's in the [health care] bill."  So, there you have it folks. This explains Obama's reticence to answer your questions, opting instead to stump from the Blue Room alongside a nervous Bret Baier. He figures you already have all the answers. Therefore, you'll be getting nothing of substance from him.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:
For the politically unedumacated…you'll notice that Bret Baier and Barack Obama use the word "fix," or "fixes" in the Fox interview. What they are talking about are bribes given to legislators to secure their votes in order to ram this bill through. In this context, Fix = bribe.

Additionally, when Barack Obama says he want's to be "clear," or that he's "trying to answer … questions," it means you need to duck because he's getting ready to throw a "can" at you. In other words, more talking points. The idea is to talk as much as possible without ever giving the interviewer a chance to follow-up, regroup, etc. Yeah, I know it's lame, but it's pretty much a text book example of the kind of status quo political posturing you've come to expect inside the beltway. Talk alot…say nothing; be evasive, change the subject, skirt the issue, deliberately evade direct questions. Surprisingly, this tack works on about 40 percent of the electorate from either side depending on who's in office. They simply nod and smile without ever realizing that the question was never answered.

THOR’S DAY RANT: Leave my kids out of it!

Dear Prezident Nobama,

Leave my kids alone.

You and your cronies in the devilcrat party are probably pretty mad that my wife and I didn't abort our children. You're probably pretty mad that we are teaching them about God, and Jesus, and that conservatism is right, liberalism is wrong. You're probably mad that we won't let them watch sex on TV, or explain to them what "gay" is.

You might also be mad that we didn't cast votes in their name, or buy them that goofy Chia Obama As Seen on TV. I bet you're envious that they get to watch Satellite TV, eat three meals a day, and aren't growing up in a crack-infested neighborhood. You might also be envious that there are no unsettling stories about any of my friends having a "special relationship" with my children.

And most of all, I bet you're envious that my children have birth certificates CLEARLY showing they were born in this country.

But why do you have to drag them into your socialist, political bullshit?

I'm speaking of course about this coming September 8th, when you take your dog and pony show to schools, trying to influence children. After all, this method has worked for the Global Warming Melting Cult. They have convinced children around the country that the sky is falling and we all need to go green.

But you're no Chicken Little.

No Comrade Nobama, you're much more dangerous. Your idea that the government can provide adequate healthcare for my children is preposterous. Members of Congress like Charlie Wrangle can't even pay their own taxes. And since someone could actually die from poorly run healthcare, I think I'll keep on making my children's healthcare choices.

This tuesday Chairman Maobama, you won't be speaking to my children at school. Nope, I intend to sign them out at about 11:30. The school insists on a reason why kids are signed out- guess I'll have to tell the truth and write "tea party".

Leave my kids alone, Hussein. That's an order. Because after all, you work for me.
