Obama and Pelosi redefine “transparency”

Comrade Obama and Nantucket Pelosi showing us what they really mean when they tout this administration's "transparency." Transparency = under-the-table=informal talks=do-as-we-say-not-as-we-do…we're smarter than you anyway.

EXCLUSIVE: Obama talks for 20 minutes and says absolutely nothing…

Well folks, all I can say is evasive, evasive, evasive.  Whether you love President Obama or hate him, I don't think there's any question that after last night, he as proven his skill as a politician.

The canned speech (AHEM!) er, uh… "interview," which was conducted by Bret Baier in the Blue Room of the White House, basically showcased Obama's talking points while effectively dodging legitimate questions posed by Baier, questions which you, the people of the United States, wanted answered.

At the top of the query list for many Americans is a little thing called the "Deem and Pass bill." Some have called it the "demon pass bill," and with good reason. The bill would allow  the new health care legislation to be sent directly to President Obama's desk without a vote, effectively shredding the Constitution of the United States. Specifically, articles I and II would end up in the crapper, with dreadful ramifications later on, as this unconscionable, power grabbing action continues from one administration to the next.

Anyway, Baier asked the prez if he supported this kind of action, to which he responded with a laundry list of his talking points. When Baier pressed Obama further on the question, he responded by saying, "I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or the Senate," proving, yet again, that there's more than one way to dodge a question.  Thanks for your, uh…transparency Mr. President.

That's the kind of evasive non-answer which Obama puked out for close to 20 minutes. I don't think he ever answered a single question Baier posed to him. Instead it was the usual scripted garbage, lies, and skirting the issue we've come to expect from our nation's leaders. It was the kind of sycophantic gruel which if it isn't slurped up by a barely conscious Kool-Aid drinking electorate, it's certainly given intravenously to those who are hopelessly dependent on the system. These days, those two categories derive the same way, so I realize I"m repeating myself. But I digress…

To be fair to Obama, I believe he has a legitimate reason for being stodgy in the Fox interview and I think it's summed up in the following quote by Obama:  "Everybody knows what's in the [health care] bill."  So, there you have it folks. This explains Obama's reticence to answer your questions, opting instead to stump from the Blue Room alongside a nervous Bret Baier. He figures you already have all the answers. Therefore, you'll be getting nothing of substance from him.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:
For the politically unedumacated…you'll notice that Bret Baier and Barack Obama use the word "fix," or "fixes" in the Fox interview. What they are talking about are bribes given to legislators to secure their votes in order to ram this bill through. In this context, Fix = bribe.

Additionally, when Barack Obama says he want's to be "clear," or that he's "trying to answer … questions," it means you need to duck because he's getting ready to throw a "can" at you. In other words, more talking points. The idea is to talk as much as possible without ever giving the interviewer a chance to follow-up, regroup, etc. Yeah, I know it's lame, but it's pretty much a text book example of the kind of status quo political posturing you've come to expect inside the beltway. Talk alot…say nothing; be evasive, change the subject, skirt the issue, deliberately evade direct questions. Surprisingly, this tack works on about 40 percent of the electorate from either side depending on who's in office. They simply nod and smile without ever realizing that the question was never answered.

State representative shows true colors on the question of “life”

It’s been several months since I’ve blogged about politics and I have to admit, my life has been much happier as a result. But then, something terrible happened…

Yesterday, I happened across an old article in the Corydon Democrat, which caught my attention and demanded I pick up my pen again. The headline read, Variety of questions aimed at Robertson, Young and outlined a public meeting which took place roughly one month ago here in Corydon. The format was simple: a moderated question and answer session between two of our district’s representatives and residents of Harrison County.

As I scanned the article, I wasn’t particularly surprised with anything representatives Robertson and Young said, until about three quarters of the way through when the following exchange occurred between a guy named Ron Haendiges and Representative Paul Robertson.

First, Haendiges asked why $1.4 million of state money was being handed over to Planned Parenthood. He followed up this question by saying, “I’m against tax dollars being used to abort somebody else’s baby.” That statement seems pretty reasonable to me. But what set me off was Robertson’s idiotic reply. He started by stating that he is very prolife and that he stands by his record on the issue, but added that Planned Parenthood does a lot more than encourage people to get an abortion. (Actually, I agree with Robertson on this point. They not only “encourage” women to get abortions, they actually perform the abortions.) Anyway, he went on to state, “The money is put into Planned Parenthood because they do a lot of good.” Excuse me??? Planned Parenthood does a lot of good? That has got to be one of the dumbest justifications for Planned Parenthood I have ever heard and this is coming from a guy who claims to be “pro-life.” Giving money to Planned Parenthood for that reason is kind of like saying, “I support subsidizing the Unabomber because he’s not just someone who blows people up; he also helps his landlady carry out her garbage. And did I mention he has a soft spot for abandoned animals? In short, he doesn’t just kill people; he does a lot of good as well.

That is some twisted logic and a soft juicy moral center you have there, Paul. You of all people must realize that abortion on demand is Planned Parenthood’s bread and butter. Without abortion and the subsequent tax dollars used to subsidize this barbaric practice, Planned Parenthood would have to shut its doors. This is a corrupt idea which actually funds more abortions. That is the legislation you support, sir, and you call yourself pro-life. In what possible world could you ever call yourself pro-life? How could you even insinuate that you’re in the same category? You want to wear the label of pro-life, but like your counterpart, Baron Hill, your rhetoric has no teeth. You’ve got nothing behind your words and as such, your words are empty. A vacuous, nebulous blob of meaningless blather you cling to in order to procure votes from those who don’t know any better. Shame on you, sir.
