KILROY SAYS: You Can’t Eat a Bandaid

Government run healthcare is such a noble aspiration, when you think about it. The government stepping in to help the poor, sickly and downtrodden who can't afford to help themselves. At least, that's what's being proposed right now.

But there is a bigger issue the government should be addressing. Malnutrition.

As mind-boggling as it may seem, there are people going hungry in the United States right now. There are children who aren't being given sufficient nutrition. Homeless people who have to beg on the side of the road for their next meal.

How do we fix that problem? Can we slap a big bandaid on their belly, give them two aspirin and shove them out the door?

Not having healthcare won't necessarily kill you. People recover from colds, flus and even amputations all the time.

Not eating will definitely kill you.

Nutrition is probably the number one preventative medicine in the history of mankind. Our extended lifespans in the 21st Century are undoubtably the result of better food. Sure, medicine has made great strides in correcting illnesses and ailments, but what about preventing them to begin with?

I remember during the Reagan years the government handing out cheese. We all joked about it, but I wonder how many people directly benefitted from that cheese. How many people had a meal because of that cheese? And what about Food Stamps? The government is already involved in feeding some of the populace. Why not expand that existing program?

If the Left truly wants to make America healthier, let's start at the breakfast table. Instead of taxing soda in an effort to reduce people's consumption of it, because it is linked to obesity, why not get people eating healthier? Why not outlaw some of the crap people consume everyday, like overly-sugared breakfast cereals or diet pills designed to trick you into feeling like you've eaten.

A healthier-eating America will be a healthier America.

Healthcare for all is a grand idea, but a better one is to provide good food for all.

Share Our Strength’s Great American Dine Out is a national campaign that helps bring the restaurant industry together to make sure that no child in the US grows up hungry. From September 20-26, 2009, participating restaurants across the nation will donate up to 5% of that week’s sales, generating millions of dollars to help Share Our Strength end childhood hunger in America.

THOR’S DAY RANT: Leave my kids out of it!

Dear Prezident Nobama,

Leave my kids alone.

You and your cronies in the devilcrat party are probably pretty mad that my wife and I didn't abort our children. You're probably pretty mad that we are teaching them about God, and Jesus, and that conservatism is right, liberalism is wrong. You're probably mad that we won't let them watch sex on TV, or explain to them what "gay" is.

You might also be mad that we didn't cast votes in their name, or buy them that goofy Chia Obama As Seen on TV. I bet you're envious that they get to watch Satellite TV, eat three meals a day, and aren't growing up in a crack-infested neighborhood. You might also be envious that there are no unsettling stories about any of my friends having a "special relationship" with my children.

And most of all, I bet you're envious that my children have birth certificates CLEARLY showing they were born in this country.

But why do you have to drag them into your socialist, political bullshit?

I'm speaking of course about this coming September 8th, when you take your dog and pony show to schools, trying to influence children. After all, this method has worked for the Global Warming Melting Cult. They have convinced children around the country that the sky is falling and we all need to go green.

But you're no Chicken Little.

No Comrade Nobama, you're much more dangerous. Your idea that the government can provide adequate healthcare for my children is preposterous. Members of Congress like Charlie Wrangle can't even pay their own taxes. And since someone could actually die from poorly run healthcare, I think I'll keep on making my children's healthcare choices.

This tuesday Chairman Maobama, you won't be speaking to my children at school. Nope, I intend to sign them out at about 11:30. The school insists on a reason why kids are signed out- guess I'll have to tell the truth and write "tea party".

Leave my kids alone, Hussein. That's an order. Because after all, you work for me.

Barbara Boxer explains Obama care opponents behavior

In this video Senator Barbara Boxer (around here we just call her ma'am), tells reporters that the outcry of average Americans against government run health care is nothing more than a political stunt aimed at dethroning the Great One. She also suggests that people from the midwest should respect her because Ronald Reagan came from California and so does she. Here's the problem, Barbara: You're NOT Ronald Reagan! You don't get respect because you hold a high office. You don't get respect because you represent the same state as Ron Reagan–a person who is respected. You get respect because you earned it.
